Dr. Sonja Jovanovic is a Senior Research Associate at the Vinča Institute of Nuclear Sciences in Belgrade, Serbia. She holds a Ph.D. in Nanosciences and Nanotechnologies from the Jožef Stefan Institute in Ljubljana, Slovenia (2014), a B.Sc. in Physical Chemistry from the University of Belgrade (2010). Her research expertise includes the synthesis and functionalization of functional oxide and magnetic nanoparticles, focusing on nanoscience and nanotechnology applications. Dr. Jovanovic has contributed to several international research projects, collaborating with institutions in Slovenia, Italy, Russia and Turkey on various applications.
She has held various roles at the Vinča Institute, advancing from Research Trainee in 2014 to Senior Research Associate in 2020. She previously worked as a Postdoc at the Jožef Stefan Institute. Dr. Jovanovic has actively participated in the organization and leadership of scientific conferences. She has served as an evaluator and committee member for MSc and Ph.D. theses, reviewed articles for journals and contributed to the development of materials for nanotechnology.
She is also trained in project development and has gained international experience through research exchanges. As a member of the Material Research Society of Serbia, Society of Physical Chemists of Serbia and others, Dr. Jovanovic continues to advance research in nanotechnology and materials science.
